Don't Just Sit There
ABOUT DJST

“Organic growth is a cyclical process. It is just as true to say that the oak is a potential acorn as it is to say that the acorn is a potential oak. But the process of writing a poem, of making any art object, is not cyclical, but a motion in one direction toward a definite end. ”
— W.H. Auden, The Dyer's Hand

Don’t Just Sit There appears semiannually, online and occasionally in print, from a mysterious publishing collective sometimes known as “Six Poets Short of a Sonnet.” The journal’s mission is to publish poetry and essays about poetry by writers who have a connection to Colorado, the Rocky Mountain West, or have been affiliated with Lighthouse Writers Workshop (LWW) of Denver, Colorado. We also publish critical reviews of books of poetry, or having to do with poetry. DJST has no formal affiliation with Lighthouse Writers Workshop. All opinions expressed in the journal are those of the individual authors and not the faculty or employees of LWW.
Address correspondence to David J. Rothman, Editor, at rothmandavidj@msn.com and to Rich Uhrlaub, Online Managing Editor, at richucsu@aol.com. We thank and honor Martha Kalin for her outstanding leadership and tireless efforts to launch, guide and develop the first three issues of DJST.
